13: Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?

Wow, that's a loaded fucking question. There's nothing inherently wrong with tweaking canon, but I prefer not to. Partially because that's the bigger challenge: How to make this non-canon (usually homogay) pairing work without breaking the bounds of canon credulity?
